EDUCATION AND CAREER:
With a passion for problem-solving, I pursued studies in engineering and business at Cal Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo. These disciplines sharpened my analytical skills and provided me with the systems and human perspective on how people, processes, and policies interact. Professionally, my career has spanned technology, entrepreneurship, and civic engagement with a focus on building smarter and more efficient systems.
At the same time, I have always invested in the community by mentoring young leaders, supporting small businesses, and assisting non-profits. I believe the mix of professional expertise and civic involvement has helped shape my understanding of the benefits of bringing people together and turning ideas into results – all of which would serve me and the city well as your representative.
COMMITMENT TO PORTLAND:
As a homeowner and taxpayer, I have watched our city struggle with unprecedented challenges, only to be answered with political prowess over policy prowess. The results of this approach to policy making is NOT working, and have not always been in the best interest of the city nor inclusive of all of our residents.
Portland is a historic, charming small city, yet it boasts all the amenities of a larger city. The uniqueness of its streets and businesses, the scent of the ocean, its vibrant arts and culture scene, and, of course, the food, make it a special place.
Portland has a diverse and connected community, and through my campaign, I have participated in over 100 community events, neighborhood block parties, and one-on-one meetings, connecting with the people, places, and things that make our city special. This builds on my personal participation in the Leadership Portland Program, and support for Through These Doors, American Heart Association Events, Alzheimer's Association Events, and as a Roux Institute Mentor
Please join me in working together toward protecting the things we love about our city - a shared vision for a safe, affordable, and livable city for all of its residents.
